The Lifting Spirits Tavern occupies Trollskull Manor at the heart of Trollskull Alley in Waterdeep — a landmark establishment with a reputation that extends well beyond its neighbourhood.

Notable Features

The Poltergeist Lif — The manor comes with a resident poltergeist named Lif, who serves as both a feature and an occasional hazard. Lif is not hostile by default but has strong opinions about how the tavern should be run. He predates the current tenants and considers himself a co-proprietor of sorts.

Illmater's Blessing — The tavern carries a blessing from Illmater, god of endurance and suffering. Patrons who spend an hour resting here find their wounds healed. This is not a common enchantment; it was earned, not purchased. The tavern has seen enough hardship in its history that Illmater's attention is not surprising.

The Statue — Outside the tavern, at the crossroads of Trollskull Alley, there is a statue of the Lifting Spirits party — the adventurers who were based here during the 1497–1500 DR campaign. It serves as a local landmark. Waterdhavians know the alley as "the place with the adventurers' statue."

Proprietor: Felix

Felix runs the Lifting Spirits Tavern in the current period (~1508 DR). The details of his acquisition, his background, and his relationship to the original party are not fully documented.

History

The tavern was established by or around the Lifting Spirits party during their Waterdeep operations (1497–1500 DR). Caladorn (as Alek Pressalor) was a regular patron during this period; the tavern served as a base of operations for that campaign.

After the campaign concluded, the tavern continued under Felix's management and became a Waterdeep institution — enough so that a statue of the original party was erected outside.

Campaign Relevance

Caladorn directed the Forge Wardens to Trollskull Manor (by this name or its Lifting Spirits connection) for answers about Othorion's Styx poisoning. He knows the history of the location and whoever currently operates it.

The Illmater blessing makes it a significant safe haven if the party ever reaches Waterdeep — an hour's rest that heals wounds is not trivial mid-campaign.
