A mixed-race village (mostly humans and kobolds) on the southern slopes of the Dragonspine Mountains, north of the Dalelands and Cormyr along a river near Zhentil Keep. This is Kavu's home village — where he grew up before leaving to chase flames across the world.
Flamehold — the Flameheart Kobold Clan's underground home — is within a few miles. Toothmaw Cliffs and The Scar are both within approximately 20 miles.
Geography
Flamemeet sits at a natural crossroads between the human settlements of the Dalelands and the kobold warrens to the north in the Dragonthorn foothills. A river tributary near Zhentil Keep runs nearby, making it a trade node between the kobold craftwork of the mountains and the human commerce of the south.
About the Town
| Place | Description |
|---|---|
| Red Dragon Inn | Larkin's inn; the social hub |
| Killzara's Market Stall | Kobold merchant; Killzara Brightscale |
| Meeting Hall | Town council; Burgomaster Ivor Blackwell's seat |
| Kobold Quarter | Edge of town; leads toward Flamehold |
Volcathar previously demanded only gold tribute from the region, leaving settlements alone. That arrangement ended when Father Korvan's cult arrived — believing they could bind the dragon to their will through sacrificial ritual. In truth, Volcathar was never under cult control; he tolerated them because the sacrifices fed his own power. The cult's kidnapping of local villagers for sacrifice at Toothmaw Cliffs terrorized the region until the party intervened.

Visited Via Time Travel
The party arrived via Ember Compass — transported 72 hours into the past (Hammer 13, 1508) while inside the Tarrasque. They emerged just before the Toothmaw Cliffs ritual was to complete. Their earlier selves were simultaneously in the Underdark. They disrupted a cultist hostage-taking at the tavern, gathered intel, then marched toward Toothmaw Cliffs — feeding directly into D01.
Post-Scar Transformation
After Volcathar's death and the creation of The Scar, Flamemeet is rapidly transforming. Ivor Blackwell understands better than most what the village is becoming:
- The dragon and the tribute system are gone — the shadow that defined the region for generations has lifted
- In its place: the Fernian Scar, Volcathar's crystallised Monument, and thousands of Siberys Dragonshards
- Fortune-seekers are flooding in; the Zhentarim have established a "trading post"; the Harpers are sending agents
- Flamehold (the kobold warren) faces a choice: retreat into obscurity or emerge as a legitimate regional power
- The region is becoming a target for factions seeking the Dragonshards and planar knowledge
Ivor asked Kavu for help managing this transformation. That request is outstanding.
