Vera Moonshade
True name: Serenya Caelithar | Proprietor of The Gilded Trident | Jonah's wife | Waiting for someone who is never coming back

Basic Info
| True Name | Serenya Caelithar |
| Race | Lunar Astral Elf |
| Affiliation | The Gilded Trident |
| Status | Active — Luskan |
| Husband | Jonah |
| Missing | Left arm — lost to Rognok Saltfang |
Poised and efficient. Fair-skinned and slender with vividly white hair worn long. She appears youthful for an elf but carries the quiet confidence of someone who has paid for their experience in ways she doesn't explain. Her missing left arm is the most visible of those costs. She runs The Gilded Trident near Luskan's waterfront with the calm authority of someone who has survived worse than anything a Luskan sailor might try. She shuts down trouble before it escalates. Her ability to read people is uncanny.
She always keeps a magical teacup on the counter that maintains the warmth of whatever is in it. There is always a second cup set beside it. It has been waiting a long time.
Background — The Xyraxian Exile
Vera and Jonah were both members of the Xyraxian Empire — an astral elf civilisation operating from spelljammer vessels in the Astral Sea. The Empire issued an order: attack Toril.
They refused.
The Xyraxian Empire does not tolerate dissent. They were not imprisoned or executed — they were exiled more cruelly: stripped of their ship and left on Toril to survive it as best they could. A planet they had been ordered to destroy. Two people abandoned on it together.
Jonah arrived first. Vera came down afterward, following his trail.
The Sea Dragon — Rognok Saltfang
Vera did not reach Toril cleanly.
On her descent, she encountered the Half-Orc pirate Rognok Saltfang aboard his vessel — at the time known as the Sea Dragon. The encounter became a fight. Rognok cut off her arm.
Then he stopped.
She told him her story — the exile, the refused order, the planet she was trying to reach. Rognok listened. He let her go. He promised her he would look after the planet she had refused to destroy. When she left, he rechristened his ship the Astral Dragon.
The Wait
Vera made her way to Luskan. She established The Gilded Trident, built contacts, and waited for Jonah.
She has been waiting for years. The teacup on the counter is always warm. There is always a second cup.
She does not know that Jonah followed a blood moon omen away from Luskan in Session A10 and will not be coming.
Relationship with the Forge Wardens
Othorion
Othorion's talent for acquiring interesting items eventually led him to The Gilded Trident. Vera recognised his talent; Othorion found her an invaluable supplier of goods and arcane contacts. Over time they developed a cautious trust — exchanging rumours and rare products. She extends him privileges denied to most patrons.
She thinks Othorion cannot swim. He was notably unenthusiastic about Luskan's pirate culture and nautical life, firmly a land-based person. This concerned her enough that when she sent him off via Kavu, she included a set of armour enchanted to keep the wearer afloat in water.
She worries about him.
Kavu
During the Forge Wardens' time in Luskan, Kavu and Vera developed a genuine bond. Where Othorion's relationship with her is carefully transactional — ally, not friend — Kavu's was warmer. She sent the floating armour for Othorion through Kavu specifically, which says something about how much she trusted him to deliver it.
The Gilded Trident
A refined but understated establishment near Luskan's harbour. Deals in nautical supplies, enchanted goods, and items that skirt the edges of legality — always wrapped in an air of legitimacy. Only trusted clientele gain access to the premium selection. She maintains loose connections with the Arcane Brotherhood but keeps those affiliations discreet.
The teacup on the counter has been there since she opened. It is not a decoration.
