One of the most dangerous assassins on Faerûn — who, at some point in the past, decided that Othorion needed to cease to exist as himself.
Role in Campaign
Artemis Entreri does not have an active on-screen role. He exists in Othorion's recovered memory — specifically the Darklake Vision, in which Entreri poisoned Othorion with Styx water at One-Eyed Jax and stole his identity.
The Styx water poisoning implies that Othorion's sense of self, memories, and personal history were deliberately targeted and erased. The crime Othorion is accused of committing may be something Entreri did while wearing Othorion's identity.
Known History
- Formerly allied with Bregan D'aerthe, the drow mercenary company.
- Hired out from under Jarlaxle by Quenthel Baenre — she paid an enormous sum specifically to bypass his loyalty to Bregan D'aerthe and secure him for her own purpose.
- At her direction, ambushed Othorion at One-Eyed Jax and poisoned him with Styx water.
- Destroyed Othorion's memories and stole his identity. The crimes Othorion is accused of committing were almost certainly Entreri acting under Othorion's face.
- The Styx water itself was obtained during a Bregan D'aerthe operation in Avernus — the same adventure that involved Caladorn (as Alek Pressalor) and the Lifting Spirits party. Caladorn is aware of this connection and directed the party toward the Lifting Spirits Tavern in Waterdeep for context.
- Current whereabouts and motivations: unknown.
