Araj Oblodra

Appearance

A drow woman with unusually grey skin and striking, vivid red eyes. She carries herself with the composed, unhurried confidence of an academic — meticulous in dress and manner, precise in speech. Nothing about her presentation reads as a threat. That is, of course, entirely deliberate.

Background

Araj Oblodra is a daughter of House Oblodra — a drow noble house defined by its cultivation of psionics rather than Lolth's divine magic. This distinction placed the House permanently outside Lolth's favour, but their strength and utility kept them intact within Menzoberranzan's political structure for longer than their enemies would have liked.

House Oblodra was eventually destroyed — a thorough, complete erasure ordered at the highest level when the House's power grew too great to be tolerated. Araj is one of a small number believed to have survived its fall.

She pursues her research with the same calm intensity that defined the House at its height.

Personality

Araj presents as a detached, methodical scholar. Her tone is measured; her questions careful; her interest in people framed as academic. She is genuinely intelligent — her accomplishments as a researcher are real, and she does not need to pretend otherwise.

What lies beneath the presentation is not visible until it is too late to be useful.

Connection to Kefkas

Kefkas encountered Araj during his time in Menzoberranzan. She was aware of him and expressed a studied interest in his development — framed, as with everything she does, as research.
