The Fourth High Captain of Luskan, commander of Taerl's Fleet. A tall, broad-shouldered woman with sun-weathered skin and streaks of gray in dark brown hair. Piercing blue eyes filled with cold, calculating intensity. Practical but well-crafted naval attire bearing her fleet's insignia.

Taerl controls a significant portion of Luskan's maritime power. Her fleet is known for discipline and efficiency. Her political philosophy: maintain the balance of power, forge alliances out of necessity rather than trust. She values loyalty and competence and rewards those who serve her well — but has no tolerance for betrayal or incompetence.

Her fortress-like home, Taerl's Fortress, sits in the Taerl compound alongside Fairlight Manor — a property that exists in Kelvin Fairlight's name, though Kelvin has never set foot there.

Connection to Othorion

Throa's daughter was the victim of a murder for which Othorion was framed. While Othorion has no memory of the crime (due to Styx water poisoning), Throa has every reason to believe in his guilt. This belief has made Othorion a marked man in Luskan. To Throa, he represents both a personal vendetta and a potential conspiracy — if he didn't do it, the framing ties to someone with enormous resources and a reason to destroy both Othorion and her family simultaneously.
