Bregan D'aerthe
"Ship Bregan D'aerthe" — Luskan's sixth ship, and the one nobody officially acknowledges.
Faction Info
| Type | Mercenary Band |
| Race | Primarily Drow |
| Base | Luskan (surface); Underdark (historical) |
| Leader | Jarlaxle Baenre |
| Status | Active |
A legendary drow mercenary band founded and led by Jarlaxle Baenre — a renegade of House Baenre who operates entirely outside the rigid caste structure of Menzoberranzan. Bregan D'aerthe accepts outcasts, exiles, and houseless drow, making it uniquely flexible and loyal to profit rather than politics.
On the surface, Jarlaxle has established Bregan D'aerthe as the de facto sixth ship of Luskan, operating through disguise, manipulation, and genuine competence. Most of Luskan's power brokers don't know they're already dealing with drow.

Campaign Role
Bregan D'aerthe — or more precisely, Jarlaxle — began tailing the party in Neverwinter. By the time the party reached Luskan, Jarlaxle had already positioned himself as "Robert Hidswell," an arctic guide, and had planted a coded book (Luskan Underworld: A Rogue's Guide by Jarlaxyl Baenre) with hidden Thieves' Cant messages on Haldak.
He traded the party information about the Underdark in exchange for a scroll of raise dead.
