A time-mage on a redemption arc — who just commanded the Tarrasque and may be starting to believe he deserves to.
Background
History
A Halfling sorcerer with innate chronurgic powers. Haldak operates on a redemption arc — but what that redemption is aimed at is larger than it appears. His actions throughout the campaign suggest a character working toward something that spans decades and planes.
Time Magic
Haldak's Chronurgy bloodline gives him temporal manipulation abilities. Demonstrated in Session 1 (accelerated Selene temporally) and referenced in party notes ("wibbly wobbly timey wimey bullshit"). His magical prowess culminated in Session 4 with the successful invocation of Titan's Tooth.
Character Arc
Arc Summary
Redemption — and something much larger. Haldak's stated goal is to locate the Codicil of the White, but this is a step in a plan that extends far beyond it. His true ambition is to usurp the Raven Queen: to become the keeper of history and memory, to prevent another Netheril from happening by controlling the record of time itself, and to ascend to godhood over her domain. He will not reach this goal quickly or recklessly. The Tarrasque command in Session 4 was a sign — to himself as much as anyone — that he has the capability.
He will encounter Rain and Arieselle somewhere on this journey. Whether they become allies, complications, or something stranger remains unwritten.
