| Role | Cult negotiator; dragon diplomat |
A composed and calculating operative of the Cult of the Dragon. Favrek is senior enough within the cult's hierarchy to negotiate directly with dragons and to command cultist contingents in the field. She carries the air of someone who has survived many years through intelligence and adaptability.
Background
Favrek serves the Cult of the Dragon as a diplomat and acquisitions agent. The cult's stated purpose is to obtain "sacred draconic knowledge" from dragons wherever possible — through negotiation, trade, or ritual offering.
Favrek had traveled to Thundertree specifically to treat with the green dragon Venomfang, one of the region's most powerful creatures. She came prepared with wealth (diamonds) and the expectation of being able to make an offering valuable enough to secure the dragon's cooperation or at least its neutrality.
Campaign Role
Thundertree Encounter (Session A15)
The party encountered Favrek and her cultist contingent on the eastern side of Thundertree ruins, where they had been establishing a base camp in preparation for approaching Venomfang. After a brief combat, during which the party defeated or forced back her cultists, Favrek stepped forward and initiated parley.
She introduced herself and the Cult of the Dragon, explaining their mission with cultist deference toward Kavu, the only kobold-dragonblood cleric of Kossuth present: "Lord Kavu, we bathe in your heat and relish in your presence." She proposed an alliance: the party would combine their diamond with the cult's diamonds and approach Venomfang together.
The Betrayal Exposed
Kavu, rolling an Insight check, immediately perceived deception. He confronted Favrek directly: "You have not told me everything. You are hiding something. How do you expect me to help you if you hold stuff from me?"
A moment of tense silence. Her men reached for weapons. She raised a hand and stopped them.
Favrek then acknowledged the situation honestly: "It seems that you are not just another blinded religious fool. Just not another idiot kobold from a backwater cave system." She stood to her full height and offered a graceful admission: "It seems that you have bested me. One does not reach my age without being able to think on their feet. I would consider it an even greater mercy if you would permit myself and my men to leave in peace."
She had been planning to offer Kavu as a sacrifice to Venomfang — a gift intended to smooth the dragon's disposition and demonstrate the cult's worthiness. The party's strength and Kavu's perceptiveness forced her to abandon that scheme.
Departure
Kavu demanded the cultists swear an oath to leave the area. Favrek looked to her men and asked: "Do you swear?" Each grumbled "I do" in turn. Favrek and her contingent departed eastward into the woods, leaving behind a chest containing three diamonds worth 100gp each.
Appearance & Manner
Favrek is described as composed and calculating — the kind of person whose age is not immediately apparent but who clearly carries years of experience. She commands respect from her subordinates through competence and measured response rather than cruelty.

Threads
- Cult of the Dragon Intelligence: Favrek's presence and mission confirm the cult is actively seeking relationships with dragons across the Sword Coast region — not just hoarding gold or collecting relics, but actively cultivating alliances with dragon-kind.
- Kavu's Recognition: The cult immediately deferred to Kavu as a "Flamekeeper, Anointed of Kossuth" — suggesting the cult understands that divine-adjacent beings hold value as offerings or negotiators with dragons. This may indicate the cult has attempted to recruit divine casters before.
- Future Retaliation Risk: Favrek released her contingent with an oath, but she was not killed or imprisoned. She and the cult remain at large in the region. Whether they would attempt retaliation for the failed Thundertree negotiation or move on to other dragons is unknown.
- Venomfang's Status: The party never learned whether Favrek's diamonds would have been sufficient to sway Venomfang, or whether the dragon was already disposed toward the cult's interests.
