Agatha

A banshee who haunts the ruins of a cottage near Conyberry, east of Phandalin. In life she was a powerful elven sorceress of great renown. In undeath, she is territorial, unpredictable, and lethal — her wail capable of killing those who hear it.

Agatha collects trinkets and baubles, and may be willing to answer a single question if approached with a suitable gift and the right deference. She does not suffer disrespect.

Connection to the Party

Sister Garaele asked the party to visit Agatha with a silver comb as a gift, in exchange for one question about Bowgentle's spellbook.

In Session A13, Roland spoke Agatha's name and the party approached her woodland cottage. Kavu presented the silver comb. Agatha accepted it and answered: she traded Bowgentle's spellbook over a century ago to a necromancer named Surnath of Eriabor, and she does not know where it went after that. The party thanked her and left promptly.

The quest for Sister Garaele is resolved as far as Agatha is concerned. The book's current location — wherever Surnath took it — is a separate thread.
