Description
Appearance
Shoor Vandree is a drow warrior in his prime — physically capable, well-equipped, and carrying the confidence of someone who has recently advanced. As Ilvara's chosen consort, he projects status deliberately.
Personality
Shoor is proud and somewhat arrogant, traits that have served him in rising to his current position. He replaced Jorlan Duskryn as Ilvara's champion after Jorlan was disfigured, and he has not let Jorlan forget it. He is capable in combat and loyal to Ilvara — though as with all drow relationships, "loyalty" has its limits and its prices.
Role at Velkynvelve
Guard Captain
Shoor commands the military personnel of Velkynvelve under Ilvara's overall authority. He handles the day-to-day enforcement, prisoner management, and security operations.
Ilvara's Consort
Beyond his official role, Shoor holds the politically significant position of Ilvara's consort — a role that grants him status above his formal rank. This position came at the expense of Jorlan Duskryn, who was Ilvara's previous favorite before being disfigured.
Replacing Jorlan Duskryn
Shoor rose to his current position when Jorlan Duskryn was grievously injured — his face and hands scarred and disfigured — during events at Velkynvelve. Ilvara, whose standards are unforgiving, replaced him with Shoor. The dynamic between Shoor and Jorlan was one of quiet cruelty: Shoor held everything Jorlan lost.
Jorlan is now dead. He died on the bridge at Velkynvelve helping the Forge Wardens escape — taking a drow guard over the edge with him. Shoor no longer has a rival to look down on. Whether that absence feels like victory or something else is his own business.

The degree to which these four Vandrees coordinate or operate independently is an open question — but House Vandree's presence at every stage of the party's Underdark journey is difficult to dismiss as coincidence.
