Daran Edermath

A fit, silver-haired half-elf well over a hundred years old. Daran is a retired fighter who served as a marshal and herald for many years on the Dragon Coast before settling in Phandalin to tend an apple orchard.

Though no longer active in the Order of the Gauntlet, he keeps a close eye on events around town and is one of the more quietly capable people in Phandalin.

Role

• Intercepted the party outside Tresendar Manor after the initial Redbrand incursion and arranged for rescued prisoners to be seen to safety
• Trusted local contact for the party during the Phandalin arc

Session A14 — Old Owl Well Debrief

In Session A14, Roland and Kelvin reported to Daran on Old Owl Well. They confirmed that undead were present and a necromancer is operating there, but that the situation is more complicated than a simple hostile target — the party struck a bargain, and the immediate threat to Phandalin is not urgent. Daran treated this as useful reconnaissance.

Order of the Gauntlet membership — Daran formally offered Kavu a place in the Order. Kavu refused.

The Kenku tune — Daran was humming a song about a Kenku named "Rain falling on a falling roof." This is Lifting Spirits-era lore that came to Daran through Calarin Dexok.
