House Oblodra

The house Lolth destroyed because they didn't need her. She destroyed them thoroughly.

House Oblodra was once the third house of Menzoberranzan — and the most anomalous. While every other great house drew its power from Lolth's divine favour and the magic she granted her priestesses, House Oblodra's strength came from psionics: raw mind-force that needed no god to function. This made them uniquely powerful and uniquely dangerous to Lolth's authority.

She destroyed them.

House Baenre was given permission — and resources — to launch a full assault in 1482 DR. The house fell in a single day. Most of its members were killed. The compound was razed. The few survivors scattered.

The Destruction

The attack was thorough. House Baenre did not want survivors, and they mostly got what they wanted. During the assault, Zesstra Velkyn'Oblodra — a blade-master and noblewoman — fought her way toward the only exit, pushing Kefkas through a closing portcullis before she was taken by Baenre priestesses. She was brought to a shrine beneath the city and transformed by Lolth into a drider.

House Oblodra's campaign relevance runs entirely through Kefkas. His trainer — the woman who saved him at a slave auction, taught him everything he knows, and shoved him through a portcullis to survive while she stayed behind — is the Scarlet Widow now tracking his footsteps through the Underdark.

Kefkas does not know any of this.
