The Harpers are a decentralised secret network of spies, bards, and agents committed to preserving balance across Faerûn — opposing the accumulation of power, checking tyranny, and protecting the common people from threats they never see coming. They do not seek to rule or to dominate. They prefer to work quietly, and often alone.
Harper agents tend to be independent-minded individuals who share values rather than report to a formal command structure. They identify each other through the silver harp pin and coded phrases, and they operate in cells that often have no knowledge of each other.
