Stewards of Auril
The Frostmaiden's reach extends further than the snow line.
Faction Info
| Type | Divine Servants |
| Deity | Auril the Frostmaiden |
| Base | Far North / Icewind Dale |
| Status | Active — last known tracking party northward |
The Stewards of Auril are agents dispatched directly by Auril the Frostmaiden — the goddess of cold and winter. Their precise nature (mortal fanatics, divine constructs, or something else) is unestablished. They serve as Auril's enforcers and trackers, operating primarily in the far north where her power is strongest.
Campaign Involvement
The Stewards were set on the party's trail following the escape from Revel's End (Session C04). Jarlaxle Baenre revealed their pursuit as the party departed northward. Whether Auril's grievance is purely territorial — the party violated a prison she considers within her domain — or more specific to one or more party members is unknown.
The party subsequently went underground into the Underdark. The Stewards were last confirmed tracking them northward on the surface. Whether they are aware the party changed course is unknown.

- Do the Stewards know the party went underground? Are they waiting at the Underdark exit?
- Is Auril's interest in the party punitive, territorial, or does she have a specific agenda with a party member?
- The party owes Lolth an unreturned favour. Could two divine interests in the party intersect here?
