The Hourglass Coven is a trio of hags who identified Zybilna (the archfey also known as Iggwilv / Tasha) as a threat to their operations in the Feywild and moved to neutralise her. They discovered her long-running scheme to engineer Kelvin Fairlight's birth and struck preemptively — orchestrating the wildfire that was supposed to kill his parents Rowan and Eldara.
They then immobilised Zybilna herself in the Palace of Heart's Desire using a time-stop effect, effectively freezing her and everything in her palace mid-moment.
They now control Prismeer in her absence.
What They Did
Kelvin's Parents
The Hourglass Coven learned that Zybilna had arranged for Rowan (firbolg) and Eldara (dryad) to meet in the Neverwinter Wood, with the intent of producing a child with extraordinary potential. The coven struck before the plan could fully mature — the wildfire that supposedly killed Rowan and Eldara was their work.
Prismeer Takeover
The coven froze Zybilna in the Palace of Heart's Desire — along with everyone else present at that moment, including Edgard Bladewood, who was mid-step in the palace when the time-lock activated.
They now rule Prismeer. Beings who owe Zybilna favours are being exploited. The Feywild domain is corrupted under their administration.
Connection to the Party
The Hourglass Coven's control of Prismeer is directly relevant to Kelvin Fairlight's Stage 3 destiny chain — freeing Zybilna is the endgame of that arc, and only Kelvin can do it. Freeing Zybilna simultaneously unfreezes Edgard Bladewood, Roland's father, who does not know Roland exists.
