Part of Feywild cosmology

The Feywild is a parallel plane of existence to the material world, layered with magic and inhabited by fae creatures of extraordinary power. It is a realm of beauty and danger in equal measure, where names hold power, time behaves strangely, and the laws of reality are more flexible than mortals expect.

Entry and Geography

The Feywild can be entered through various gates and liminal spaces where the material world grows thin. In the party's case, entry came through following a talking white fox deep into the Neverwinter Wood, beyond ordinary geography into places where normal rules do not fully apply. The Feywild's internal geography loops and resists escape — spatial relationships are unstable and navigation by conventional means is unreliable.

Titania and the Summer Court

Titania, Queen of the Summer Court, holds dominion over significant portions of the Feywild. She is a being of extraordinary beauty and power, carrying the authority of ancient fae nobility. In session A11, she appeared at the Sister Spring and took control of a conversation with two captured mortals (Kelvin and Othorion). She is described as finding "no" charming rather than binding — suggesting she operates with power rather than negotiation and that refusing her is ultimately futile.

The Sister Spring

The Sister Spring is a sacred location within the Feywild — a tranquil pool set in an enchanted garden. The space carries powerful protective magic and serves as a location of fae hospitality (or captivity, depending on perspective). Kelvin and Othorion spent a night there as guests of Titania, though the boundary between guest and prisoner was never fully clarified. They left with unexplained improvements: Kelvin's stolen name restored via a magical collar, Othorion's missing fingers inexplicably restored.

The Danger of Names

Names in the Feywild hold power. Giving a fae creature a name grants them leverage — potentially control — over the giver. Kelvin carelessly gave both his own name and Othorion's true name to Roland De Fey (disguised as the white fox "Skittlebump") before fully understanding the danger. The consequence was immediate: his name vanished from his own mind, experienced as a ringing absence where the word should be. Othorion understood the problem once the deed was done — too late to reverse it.

Roland De Fey and Summer Court Operations

Roland De Fey is a noble of the Summer Court working in Titania's service. He spent an extended period traveling the material world under the borrowed identity of Kelvin Fairlight, creating complicated debts and obligations. His true nature as a fae creature and his specific interest in Kelvin suggest deeper layers of political maneuvering between fae powers and their designs on the material world.

Strategic Importance

The Feywild is not merely a location in the campaign — it represents a source of magical power, ancient obligation, and fae interest in mortal affairs. The party's entanglement with Titania, the debt owed in Kelvin's illegitimate children and financial obligations, and Roland De Fey's manipulation all suggest the Feywild will remain relevant to the campaign's long-term trajectory.

The Name Theft and Collar

Titania's gift — Kelvin's stolen name restored via collar — carries complex implications. The collar is described as Titania's property, fastened around a mortal's throat. It is a claim, not merely a gift, and suggests ongoing leverage or obligation.
